Show Notes: Monstrance Clock

To the sound of the monstrance
Air is cleansed, assembled flock
Black candles burn, all minds aligned

Can we talk first about the way this Chorus is sung? It’s so low, almost like a whisper with very little musical backup. I would say this is Papa gloating that his plans have succeeded, wouldn’t you?

What is a Monstrance Clock? A monstrance clock is a clock ordained with a “monstrance” on the front. A monstrance is an ornate display used primarily by the Catholic church to display the consecrated body of Christ (or occasionally other stuff to do with the saints). If you’ve seen a Church sermon, you have more than likely seen a Monstrance. Because of this, they are extremely connected to the Church and are symbols of great faith in Christ and God.

The fact that Papa is using the monstrance clock as part of a new Satanic ritual is deliciously ironic. It’s like not only has he performed a coup, but he is using their very symbols against them.

Air is cleansed, assembled flock
Black candles burn, all minds aligned

The “air is cleansed” line refers to an act of burning a herb before the act of a ritual, which this song is describing. Referred to also as “smudging” in some cultures most notable native american, it is typically used to cleanse the air around of existing spiritual energy and start off a ritual with minimal spiritual interference.

Assembled Flock” is once again mocking Christ and God by using their own words against them. Jesus was known as “shepard of the flock” and the flock of course, being his followers. Or humanity as a whole, however you want to see it. Now Papa is the Shepard and judging by his tone, leading his lambs too slaughter.

Burning candles is typically symbolised as an act of faith, often done before a prayer to.. strengthen it? Get Gods attention? Either way. I was fascinated to find a whole HOST of meanings for burning different coloured candles. White, for example, reprsents purity and innocence. Red candles draw in spirit energy once it has been cleansed, orange help empower your strength and individuality and so on.

Black candles are extremely important to Satanic ritual as it turns out, would you believe it? They’re often lit with other colours as Black tends to negate spiritul energy, leaving a void of nothingness that needs filled. However, in this instance, this does not appear to be the case.

The “alligned minds” which we are to presume are the populace now under their new religion are burning black candles only. Perhaps this is to symbolise the attempted removal of the past religion completely, even on a spiritual level?

To the sound of the monstrance
Air is cleansed, assembled flock
Black candles burn, all minds aligned

The same verse as above but sung louder this time. Perhaps the population are now joining in, or this is an official sermon. Maybe before it was practice?

As the parish sighs in smoke
Enters lady, revealed of cloak
To haunting sound of the monstrance clock
Singing

A parish church for those unfamiliar is simply the name given to a Church, often in rural communities. This is because it is the central Church of a “parish” which is a territory of Christian faith. They’re kind of like town halls of God and anything outside their area belongs to another parish church.

With that said, the line could have three meanings. Either a) the population of the former religious territory is cleansing the air so much around their homes it sounds as if the wind is sighing, B) they are burning the church or C) The Clergy have taken over this particular Church of God falling the downfall of Christianity and are cleansing the air of Gods spirit. I’m gonna go with C.

Enters Lady, revealed of cloak” is certainly an interesting line. Revealed means “to allow something to be seen that, until then, had been hidden” and in this instance is infact referring to a nude lady entering the parish Church, presumably for whatever ritual the clergy have planned. Orgy?

Come together
Together as one
Come together
For Lucifer's son

Let us get this out of the way. Yes, this song has been given an “official” definition by the band based on the word play of this chorus. If you do not know, this song is meant to celebrate the female orgasm, and the “come” can easily be replaced with, well the version containing U.

With that in mind, we can give this chorus two distinct options. The first is that this is simply a congregation of the Clergy members and their followers and that Papa is asking them to “arrive at the same place in unison” to worship the Anti-Christ.

The second, and drawing back to what we said a few moments ago, is the orgy route. Is this simply a congregation or is this Papa encouraging the debauchery that was denied to the population for so long by quite literally “cumming together”?

To the sound of the end of day
Mesmerized, the assembled sway
Black candles burn, all minds aligned

This particular line has a dual meaning. The first of course is the “end of day” is quite literal, that it is turning midnight which is a commonly held belief of when Black Mass is set to begin (people also say this is at 3.33am). So we can infer this is taking place at midnight. The other less literal side of the line is that it is in reference to the Book of Revelations, specifically referring to the Apocalypse or “end of days” when Satan breaks free from his prison and rules over Earth.

Mesmerized, the assembled sway again is a very interesting line and depends what route we’re taking. If I could first go down the route of Satanic orgy, this is simply the movements of the participants “swaying” in motion. You can sway “forwards and backwards” as well as side to side after all.

If you don’t take that route, this line because abit more sinister. Mesmerized is clearly referring to the populace having been brainwashed by the efforts of Satan and are barely staying on their feet with what little independent thought they have left.

Hypnotizing horns of ram
Paralyzing pentagram
And the eerie sound of the monstrance clock
Singing

This verse is pretty much describing the scene that is taking place before us. If before we pictured a typical Church, crosses and monstrances on display with the body of Christ, this image now officially destroys that.

What is being referred to here is obviously the new symbols adorning the walls of the Church, most like the Symbol of Baphomet. If you haven’t seen it before, please imagine a pentagram with a goats face (well a demon goats face) inside the star itself surrounded by a circle containing runes.

Interestingly, this symbol is said to represent “carnality and earthly principles”, which fits rather nicely into the orgy scenario we’ve been describing.

Show Notes: Depth of Satan’s Eyes

I want to begin this episode by discussing my theory on what this song entails storywise. In my opinion, this is the moment, or rather moments that describe Satan finally taking the world into his domain.

The Church of God at this point has been defeated. The clergy and anti-christ have stolen their followers, discredited them and placed themselves in a position of absolute authority of man.

Let's also first talk about the opening guitar noise. Doesn't it sound like an alarm to you? Like a warning that something bad is underway.

Through scapes of murmur

Noisy walls of sound

Without a starlit night

Shores are nowhere to be found

I believe this verse is describing the lost population of former Christians who haven't quite come round to joining the clergy yet OR of a population that is lost and confused, searching for the light to guide them in the right path.

Scapes” is a suffix “typically used to form nouns referring to a wide view of a place, often one represented in a picture”. In my opinion, these “scapes of murmur and noisy walls of sound” are chatter, gossip, whatever you want to say of the population discussing which way to turn. It’s a huge turning point in their civilisation and currently encompasses everyone and everything.

Without a starlit night, shores nowhere to be found” is a metaphorical description again of the situation. The light of God has gone out and the population feel like they are lost at sea, with no astral navigation to help them find their way. They are stuck in a feeling of hopelessness and despair.

On seas of wonder

Ye confused strays

Without a guiding light

You see no ways

On Seas of Wonder, Ye confused Strays” is a reference to the Bible verse Isaiah 53:6 in which is stated: “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

The second two lines are a reference to Psalm 119:105 which reads: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Both of these back up my theory that the population have lost their ways and are seeking a side to choose.

Into the eyes of fire

Into the gaze ablaze

Into the burning light

Of Satan's rays

This is the start of the turn of the population into the service of Satan. God, offering nothing but Satan offering them the brightest light they can see to guide their way into a choice.

Into the source of wisdom

Beyond the Bible lies

Into the endless depth

Of Satan's eyes

Into the source of Wisdow, Beyond the Bible Lies to me is one of the most interesting lines in this song. Not only is it bigging up Satans intelligence and wisdom, but Beyond the Bible Lies is such a clever double meaning.

To me, this line means both “look past the Bible and see Satan” but it also has that implication that the bible is full of lies and you should be able to read through them using the wisdom Satan has granted you.

Into the endless depth of Satans eyes is showing just how powerful and “welcoming” Satan is in this world. He is not shallow, but complex and able to contain humanity within him.

Spiral and Pulsating

His eyes are enthralling

His eyes like a vortex

A well in which you're falling

(Ah ah ahhhh)

This verse to me is describing the moment in which Satan wins. It’s almost like the population being hypnotised in unison. I don’t know why, but in my head I always have like a really psychadelic cartoon of a population falling into a spiral background of black and red.

The ahhs at the end to me are the population giving in to Satan, they sound relieved that the pressure is off and they don’t have to think anymore about the choice.

The swamp of feces

That is the world

Flatuates a whirlwind storm

In which you swirl

Now that Satan has the population in his grasp, this is where his real intentions or personality is revealed. Papa here is basically calling the world shit, and nothing that happens is going to change that.

There is no escape, as long as you continue to exist you will be swirling in this “whirlwind storm” of flatulence.

In disarray you ponder

Your soul malaise

Abandon the long lost man

Your child portrays

This verse is describing the feeling of the population now they have made their choice and are coming to terms with what they have done, panicking that they have changed their entire society and pondering what this means for them.

Malaise means “a general feeling of discomfort, illness, or unease whose exact cause is difficult to identify.” And yeah, I’m sure a lot of people are probably feeling that right now. We all get that after a difficult decision. Did we do the right thing? Did we not? Could we have done better if we chose differently?

The last two lines to me seem to be a reference to a nativity play that is performed at Christmas by children of a school. If you don’t know what a nativity play is (as I’m not sure they’re done in America), it is basically a play that tells the story of Mary, Joseph and the birth of Jesus. Perhaps this the anti-christ telling the people it is time to finally abandon this story and move on?

The last lines of this song as the chorus repeated, however, I do want to bring attention to how it is sung. It begins by being sung by Papa in his usual manner, but then it is taken over by a crowd of almost deadpan followers, like they have been brainwashed. A sign the population have chosen Satan.

Show Note: Idolatrine

Profaner of the vices, a simple charlatan

Inflaming puerile minds with the guilt of sin

Imaginations fed to children, it has served me well

That the bowels of the earth hides the pits of hell

I have no doubt in my mind that the perspective of this song is from a mature anti-christ who is going about his duties of corrupting mankind into his Fathers servitude, however, I would like to point out this is probably Ghost’s most in-depth and damning twist on religion that we’ve seen so far.

This verse is describing an act of evil, an act of a trickster who tricks those naive around him into his way of thinking. But the parallels of this verse with the rise of Jesus and the Anti-Christ in this verse are something else. As such, this entire verse has a dual perspective and double meanings all over. Let’s take it line by line.

Profaner of the vices”. From the perspective of Christ, “profaner” is a noun in this case meaning to “disrespect” or “irreverence” for the vices of the people, dismissing them as minor things in peoples lives. For the anti-christs perspective, “profaner” is not disrespectful or dismissive, but him stating that vices are irrelevant to religion in general as they won’t be punished by Satan.

A simple charlatan” line is perhaps my favourite line in the entire song. A charlatan is “a person falsely claiming to have a special knowledge or skill” which, for none believers, is exactly what Jesus is. But it also applies in turn to the anti-christ, who is tricking the population of this world into turning from God and into Satans arms by dismissing the Church of God as ridiculous.

Imaginations fed to children” is not such much a dichotomy rather than a duality of one subject, that being the general population. In the terms of Christ, in this story a fake, he is the one feeding the imagination and lie of a merciful and all powerful God to “children” which probably refers to mankind as a whole as Gods Children. The anti-christ, as it turns out, is doing the exact same thing.

It has served me well”. Yes, Jesus was executed at the cross and did not have a very nice end to his human life. But on the way up to that point, he was revered by thousands and treated as a celebrity in town by those who would follow him. Probably quite the step up for a simple charlatan. In the anti-christs meaning, the lies of Christ have served him well, not his own lies. With the population already disillusioned and unhappy with the world God has been ruling and not being the all powerful forgiving diety that was promised, it has been so easy for him to swoop in and corrupt that idea.

That the bowels of the earth lie the pits of hell” is a continuation of the last line. The fact that Jesus could frighten people into his submission just by the mere existence of hell is an extremely powerful tool and one he used to great effect. The anti-christ is merely stating how lucky he is to be so close to home and how easy it is going to be to relocate pretty much.

Idolatrine for the imbeciles

Idolatrine

Idolatrine for the debiles and the simpletons

Disciples of the watch awaits at my command

According to the Infestissumam Commentary track, this is a made up word which is a combination of Idolatry and Latrine. What is portrayed by this combination of words is the way that the Church, both in real life and in-universe, have treated their followers and the followers themselves for allowing themselves to take it.

By the Anti-Christ using this word and referring to those remaining followers as imbeciles, debiles (weak or feeble) and simpletons, he is pointing this flaw out to those he is convincing/tricking into joining his side, ironically enough by pointing out how weak and lost they would be with God, the same thing the Church of God does.

Disciples of the watch, as far as I can tell, is a reference to the film the Omen which, I’m sure most are aware, is a trilogy of films surrounding the rise of the Anti-Christ. Sound familiar? The disciples of the watch, according to the Omen Wiki, “ were a large cult of Satanists located in Scotland and England, who served and worshipped Damien Thorn, the Antichrist.”

Awaiting my command could also be a reference to the film, as the cults main purpose in the film is to kill every boy born between midnight and 6am on a particular day to prevent the return of Christ. Perhaps the anti-christ is preparing for this to happen also?

Lord of silence

Desolated one

Vengeance is his

In the context of this song, I think this verse is referring to the loneliness of the anti-christ on Earth, in a weird way making him out to be a very sympathetic villain.

I sort of bring this up in the next verse, but “Desolated” means either “Devoid of Inhabitants or Visistors” OR it means “sad and empty”. Sort of fits right? Vengeance is his is more in line with Satan rather than the anti-christ.

An existence as a human

Is leaden monotony

With all desires drowned

Impure sanctimony

This verse is the Anti-Christs way of saying “with the values of God and the moral rules placed upon humanity, what is the point of human life as it amounts to nothing. No excitement, no real joy, simply repeated worship until the day you die”.

Alternatively, perhaps, this could be another duality with Jesus. Perhaps in this verse, unlike Jesus, the anti-christ is complaining about his mission on Earth, quite literally stating “my life as a human is boring and I want to be rid of this sanctimonious world”?

I’m leaning towards the first meaning personally.

Idolatrine for the imbeciles

Idolatrine

Idolatrine for the debiles and the simpletons

Disciples of the watch awaits at my command

Suffer little children to come unto me

Suffer little children grant me sovereignty

Suffer little, little, princes and princesses

This verse is a deliciously bastardised version of a passage from the bible. To quote Mark 10:14: “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God”.

To fully examine this verse, we have to understand the usage of the word suffer and how it has changed over the years. According to the word detective website, The original root sense of “to suffer” was “to bear or carry.”. When it first arrived in English, it had two meanings. One was “to undergo, endure, submit to”, and the other was “to allow, permit, put up with, tolerate.”

With that in mind, let’s look at the verse because there’s a lot going on here. Yes, it is a bastardised version as I mention previously which is essentially the anti-christ saying he is tolerating the children of God for the sake of his mission and by doing so, also growing himself in power allowing his rule.

It also could be quite a distinct reference to a point I mentioned earlier, which was the Omen. In the film, as I said, the disciples of the watch were ordered to kill children as one of them was to be the reborn Christ. Perhaps then, in this verse, the anti-christ is using suffer in the sense of “bring me the little children and I will destroy them. By doing so my victory is assured”. Backing this up is the usage of princes and princesses, as the reborn messiah would be the “prince” or “princess” of the Kingdom of God.

Show Notes: Body and Blood

This grave hill stinks of death

A reek from the ground

Catches whiff of the hound

A dead ones breath

In setting the scene for this song, I think it’s important we first establish the over-arching theme surrounding it and importantly, who is singing it.

In my opinion, this song is from the perspective of the general public, the churchgoers who are still following God but, with a new power arriving on the scene, beginning to doubt the rituals of faith they are being asked to perform by the church, the main one in this song by the act of communion.

I think the first part of this verse is describing the churchgoers arriving at the church (which is often surrounded by graves, hence the grave hill) and acknowledging the morbidness of that. It might not literally stink, but the thought of it is enough to provoke a reaction in someone who no longer believes.

The Hound” in this scenario is more than likely referring to the people themselves, not an actual hound. They have a heightened sense of danger, a heightened sense of moral disgust because their minds are starting to become unclouded of the teachings of god.

The casket lid is cold

But waiting inside

Is someone petrified

That odor's old

The casket lid in this sentence I don’t think is a literal casket. What I actually think it’s referring to are the cold doors of the Church, containing the dying spirit of God inside them.

The “someone petrified waiting inside” I believe is the holyman who runs the Church this is set in. He is not petrified because of death, but because he knows what is happening and is losing his position of power and following.

That odor’s old is a metaphor for the shifting dynamics. Again, not referring to an actual odor, it’s more like the population saying “Yeah, this place is getting old. Something new has come along to take your place in us”.

His body and blood

Sharing in common

His body and blood

His body and blood

Serving Messiah ooh

His body and blood

Sharing in common

His body and blood

His body and blood

Serving Messiah

Son of God

This brings us to the meat of the song and the act of faith that the churchgoers are being asked to perform. “His Body and Blood” are references to the Last Supper and longstanding tradition of Holy Communion within the Catholic Church.

During the last supper when giving his disciples bread, he took a piece and referred to it as “my body” and a cup of wine as “my blood”. From the Catechism of the Catholic Church "At the Last Supper, on the night he was betrayed, our Savior instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood. This he did in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross throughout the ages until he should come again, and so to entrust to his beloved Spouse, the Church, a memorial of his death and resurrection: a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a Paschal banquet 'in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.'"

The serving messiash line is actually quite a funny double entendre. While yes, it means that by taking in the communion of Christ they are fufilling their roles in his servitude, it also means that the Church is literally serving their messiah on a plate for all to eat.

The bitter taste is sweet

So eat Nazarene

And you kiss the obscene

Anointed feet

I believe the perspective of this song has switched yet again, this time coming from the priest/clergyman of the Church. It gives the air of someone forcing their beliefs on someone, telling them “the bitter taste of this is actually sweet” for example. Don’t believe your own brain, trust me.

This line is again a double meaning. “Nazarene” is a title used to describe people from the city of Nazareth in the New Testament and is a title applied to Jesus. It is also an early term used to label the followers of Jesus. So it can mean “eat Jesus” or “eat up followers of Jesus”

These last two lines are a direct reference to the bible, specifically “Luke 7:38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.”. This is basically the priest telling the congregation to bow down before their lord.

The usage of the word obscene could be that he sees this as a sexual act, or it could be that the feet themselves are disgusting, having not been washed before kissing.

Receive, consume

Receive, consume

Digest

Defecate

This could be the first lines we are hearing from the perspective of the Anti-Christ. In these lines, he is whispering into the ears of the population to continue as normal for now, but with the purpose now of not absorbing the intended “love” but to pass it along as waste.

Show Notes: Year Zero

Let us first talk about the title. Year Zero isn’t actually a religious phrase at all, as far as I can tell there has never been a Year Zero mentioned in sacred texts. The phrase actually originates from a political sense, specifically the takeover of Cambodia in 1975 by the communist party in the country at the time.

It’s a play/derivative statement of Year One which is part of the French Revolutionary Calender. While both the revolutions resulted in many deaths following the installation of a new government, the Cambodian genocide led by Pol Pot was far far greater, targetting anyone intellectual or important at all to the old regime.

To quote, “The idea behind Year Zero was that all culture and traditions within a society must be completely destroyed or discarded, and a new revolutionary culture must replace it, starting from scratch. All of the history of a nation or people before Year Zero would be largely deemed irrelevant, because it would ideally be purged and replaced from the ground up.”

Now we know that, we have a better idea of how to approach the song.

Side note before we begin, special Ghoul refers to this song as “the perfect opening song to the second act” which perfectly fits this show. If you’re like me and have a musical/stage play in your mind, the curtains have gone dark after Zombie Queen and we’ve opened back up with this song.

Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub
Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer

You may think that all these names are just alternative names for Satan, but you’d be wrong. And right. While these names HAVE become this, a few of them were originally demons in their own right. Let’s run through what each of these mean AND their significance.

Belial – Belial is often credited as being “the father of Demons” and sometimes even Satan himself. In Judaism, he is the leader of the Sons of Darkness, In Christianity, he is a “Jinni” or “Jinn” of confusion and lust.

Behemoth – He is a mythological beast of hell and holds the rank of “caretaker of wine cellars, grand cupbearer of the royal household, and right watchman. He oversees the feasts of Jinnestan and is responsible for serving the Devil his food and wine.” Apparently he also sings and plays music to entertain his lord.

Beelzebub - “literally "Lord of the Flies"; According to the 16th century occultist Johannes Wierus, Beelzebub is the chief lieutenant of Lucifer, the Emperor of the Underworld, and presides over the Order of the Fly. He was originally the name of a Philistine deity whom Jesus was accused of invoking to cast out demons from the possessed in the Gospels.

Asmodeus – He has 72 legions of demons under his command. He is one of the Kings of Hell under Lucifer the emperor. He incites gambling, and is the overseer of all the gambling houses in the court of Hell. Some Catholic theologians compared him with Abaddon.

Satanas is Latin for Satan – the fallen angel of Christianity and Judaism which eventually became the devil and “enemy of humanity”.

And finally, Lucifer, the morning star. Lucifer is often seen as the other side to the destructive force of Satan – the creative and positive force, the “light leading the way”.

One interesting feature of this verse is the fact that it is very much akin to a Gregorian Chant, a type of worship used in Christianity. It’s a a form of monophonic, unaccompanied sacred song in Latin (and occasionally Greek).

Since dawn of time the fate of man is that of lice
Equal as parasites and moving without eyes
A day of reckoning when penance is to burn
Count down together now and say the words that you heard (or will learn)

I think to set the scene for this verse and the following, we kind of have to discuss the attendees of this celebration/party. Would the general population be cool with this? Probably not. I believe this sermon is being held to a crowd of the Clergys most devout followers who won’t stray from the path when the true intentions are revealed.

Papa in this instance is sort of gloating in my opinion. His plan has succeeded and he now believes he stands above most men, literally referring to them as lice and parasites, blind to grand goings on that surround their lives.

When penance is to burn is a really interesting line. Penance by itself means either “punishment inflicted on oneself as an outward expression of repentance for wrongdoing.” or “a sacrament in which a member of the Church confesses sins to a priest and is given absolution.”

So with this line they COULD be saying that penance is going to burn away, that sins and wrongdoings no longer need forgiveness in the new world. OR it could be a reference to an act of public penance carried out by the Spanish Inquisition known as the auto-da-fe (which translates into act of faith).

Essentially what it was was punishing heretics or non-believers of God. The most brutal of which was, you guessed it, being burnt to death. Does this sort of lie in the plans for what the clergy plan to do to the believers of God that remain?

I think the last line is basically Papa saying that the day of reckoning – the apocalypse – will happen. When it does, he is telling the people to worship Satan, not God.

Hell Satan, Archangelo
Hail Satan, Welcome year zero
Hail Satan, Archangelo
Hail Satan, Welcome year zero

Some people believe Papa is saying “Hail Satan” here, but he is actually saying Hell. The meaning however does not change. Hell is actually used in old swedish as the word for Hail (the more modern and commonly used version is Hagel but that doesn’t have the same ring to it).

Crestfallen kings and queens comforting in their faith
Unbeknownst to them is the presence of the wraith
Since fate of man is equal to the fate of lice
As new dawn rises you shalt recognize now behold the Lord of Flies

This is actually quite a politically charged line and one of the first time Ghost has mentioned another power outside the Church in their universe, that of kings and queens.

I think what Papa is saying here to the masses is that with the rise of the anti-christ and Satan, the old system of monarchy will be killed. Most monarchs in the world are actually quite linked to religion, often being inducted/crowned by a member of the ruling religion of the area (predominantly Christianity). Therefore when God loses his authority, so do they.

The word crestfallen can obviously mean sad, but I think in this context its other usage applies which is humiliated. Papa is basically saying they’ve been unknowingly humiliated by the clergy with their plans and are oblivious to their own end.

The fate of man line is pretty self explanatory.

The final line is just Papa saying “The Lord of Flies” has risen to power (as year zero has come) and that people must now look up to him and worship him. Or he’s just really into the William Golding book.

He will tremble the nations
Kingdoms to fall one by one

This is a reference to a specific verse in the Bible, Daniel 11:41. In it, Daniel says: “He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall”. It is both a religious and literal description of what’s about to happen once the anti-christ matures.

A victim to fall for temptations
A daughter to fall for a son

The ancient serpent deceiver

The victim in this sense isn’t one person, but the entirety of mankind falling for the temptations the anti-christ.

This line seems like a pretty direct meaning of, well you know, however I think it has a deeper meaning. It doesn’t have to mean literal incest, it can simply mean that lust will take over the world. After all, everyone is someones son or daughter.

The ancient serpent deceiver is a direct reference to the Garden of Eden, in which Satan takes the form of a snake to tempt Eve into eating the forbidden fruit of God, deceiving her into thinking God would be merciful or unknowing.

To masses standing in awe
He will ascend to the heavens
Above the stars of God

This is a paraphrasing of Isaiah 14:12-13, interpreted as Satan plotting to overthrow God.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God”.

Basically it means that Satan will overtake Gods throne and sit above him as Lord of all being.
